ACCESS
140 Km or 3 hour drive from Tana on national highway ( Tana > Majunga), Ankazobe the nearest town, Firarazana the nearest village, the forest is next to the main road. Camping site available.
GOAL
To conserve this rare fragment of Highland forest and the threatened animals that it contains by the development of the site as a model of ecological restoration.
VEGETATION
Mid-elevation humid forest.
BIOLOGICAL IMPORTANCE
1- Rare fragment of Higland forest.
2- Habitat for Schizolaena tampoketsana.
3- Habitat for undescribed lemur species.
SOCIO-ECONOMIC IMPORTANCE
Recreation, water source.
THREATS
1- wild fire.
